Acts of the Apostles 9:20-22

‘And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is indeed the Son of God!” Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews in Damascus couldn’t refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah. All who heard him were amazed. “Isn’t this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem?” they asked. “And didn’t he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?”

According to Truth for the World, “Repentance involves restitution. “Restitution” means that we will make right the things we have done wrong.” A murder cannot bring back the person killed, but can help out the widows and orphans. A thief cannot gain respect, but can give back more than was taken. Paul did a complete 180 with God’s help! This was part of God’s plan. The man that caused those to suffer would do the same for the sake of Christ. Paul repented, was baptized, and accepted God’s calling on his life. Immediately afterwards, he began to preach and correct those he would have killed in response. https://lifehopeandtruth.com/bible/bible-study/bible-stories/paul-and-the-road-to-damascus/

Repentance is a paradigm shift of the culture, mindset, actions, and intentionalities of those who decide to Live for God. We are watching a similar response to rapper Kanye West and his album “Jesus is King”. Thousands are now responding to an apparent response and change to Jesus. None of us have met Jesus in a blinding flash, dropped to the ground and blinded. But all of us as believers have heard the knock on our heart and respond to Jesus. But the question is do we change and repent? Saul wasn’t trusted by the other disciples until it was confirmed that he truly changed. And the most prolific New Testament author started his ministry with one of the most dramatic repentances recorded for us.

Acts of the Apostles 9:26-28

‘When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to meet with the believers, but they were all afraid of him. They did not believe he had truly become a believer! Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and told them how Saul had seen the Lord on the way to Damascus and how the Lord had spoken to Saul. He also told them that Saul had preached boldly in the name of Jesus in Damascus. So Saul stayed with the apostles and went all around Jerusalem with them, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord.’

Are you putting in the work that God has called for you in your life to show fruits of repentance? Cut people out of your life that do not help you to be Christ-like. Do not get lost in the ocean of secularity. Do not be distracted by the noisiness of life. What area of your life have you not repented and changed? Still angry at your father from Childhood? Jealous of someone else’s promotion? Still looking at porn? Kingdom men can not realize their power and ability to influence others without repentance.
