Peace: A Fruit of the Spirit
Matthew 6:27- And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
As men we struggle for “peace of mind”. We live in a world that tells us that money, power, and status is the pinnacle of the life that we should strive for. A man walking closely with God, reading scripture, and sharing his problems with fellow warriors that have the same agenda- to serve God and live for him outwardly -knows the peace that comes from the Spirit.
I’m having my first child , I’m worrying about finances, PCS, how God is gonna use me, and how to be a Father. Men of Peace turn to another Warrior to the left and right and seek wise counsel. God wants that deep relationship with us. He cares about our struggles and our thoughts. Yes we will live in hard times, yet there will come a day we will triumph from the tasks, pressure, meetings, and that one more thing we feel voided by. The fruit of peace is harvested within God’s Word, the Sword, the Truth, and His Promise to carry our burdens. God has declared the hairs on your head, already has this “thing” we call life figured out, and knows your worries. Walk closely with God and allow him to take the weight of anxiety, stress, doubt, and fear off your shoulders.
John 16:33- I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Today’s Prayer: God please keep my mind straight on you. Help me to focus my thoughts on you and not on my next reminder on my phone, my calendar, my meetings, my finances, my time management, or anything else that keeps me losing track of what you have already promised to those of us who walk with you daily. Give me Peace dear Father and let me rest in your Truth.
