John 16:13-14

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. “He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.” John 16:13-14

Jesus spoke about the Helper (Holy Spirit) coming after His ascendance to guide us through life. Many of us do not know what the Holy Spirit is. The Holy Spirit is God’s indwelling counselor that guides us through our daily lives and is our lifeline to the Father in heaven. (John 14:16-17). The Holy Spirit is the MESSENGER and intercedes for us to our Father in Heaven. (Romans 8:26).

The Holy Spirit is not just a figment of our imaginations. The Holy Spirit is the most personal relationship we have with the Father. It is the force that allows us to be Kingdom Men.When followed, the Holy Spirit propels us past our own fears. Many times, our Father passes a message to the Holy Spirit to give us. That message is the very seed we need to grow. If we follow the blueprint given to us, we can grow that mustard seed into a Redwood Tree.

A few years ago, I completed a spiritual-gift assessment survey at my church. It turns out pastoring is one of my main spiritual gifts. In my own mind I threw it away because I did not see myself up on stage speaking to men and women of the congregation. I did not realize that God was speaking of pastoring by building relationships with men who are on the front lines of spiritual warfare. The Holy Spirit spoke to me last year during my fasting, and He told me to “BUILD.” This is the seed I needed to propel me past my fears. I began spending more time with men who were under attack and came alongside to help build them and their defenses up. By opening myself up to the Spirit, the enemy could no longer make me afraid of my spiritual gifts. Instead, I’m using them to glorify the Father.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that you speak to each and everyone one of these men. I ask that you fill them with the Holy Spirit. I ask that you guide each and every one of them on their true path. We thank you for giving us this opportunity to share our thoughts and plans even though you already know what they are. My prayer is that you push us all past our fear and trust in the Holy Spirit as you speak to us through it. We trust you and love you with all our being. Watch over us and our families as we know this will not be easy. But we trust that you will not let us fall. In Jesus Name….
