For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s, God’s building. 1 Corinthians 3:9

As we wrap up this series of devotions we have focused on several things. We started by unpacking the reality that we are royalty. We are a royal priesthood, adopted heirs to our Father’s kingdom. With that comes the calling to provide, plan, protect, etc. When we consider our realm, we are to understand that God has purposefully placed us in our homes, our community, our careers. Everywhere we are we are there with the full knowledge we are His sons. We leaned into the understanding that there are outside influences that are working against God that are in place to serve as a snare or trap to entangle us in sin and pull us away from our purpose.

So now we are to consider our alignment with God in His Kingdom. Paul, in his letter to the church of Corinth, reminds his readers that we are co-workers, co-laborers, with God. As Kings we are laboring alongside our King. To be in alignment with God is to be in step with His plans for us. We read in Psalms 37:23-24 The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand. If we find ourselves in a season where we are stumbling we need to consider whether or not we have left His kingdom and His providence. God has a way of correcting us and bringing us back on course to continue the work He set before us. Ephesians 2:10 tells us, For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do, it was God’s delight to lay out good works for us to walk in, it is ours to discover those things.

There have been seasons where my alignment was off. I stepped out of the providence of God’s kingdom and fell into sin. I struggled with depression and pornography. Two things that are not from God but tools the enemy uses to disarm kingdom men. As adopted sons, our God receives us with His mercy, grace, and forgiveness when we repent and realign. As Kingdom men it may be time to consider a realignment. Be encouraged knowing that you are part of a royal priesthood.

Daily Battle Order:

Take time to answer the following questions that will help realign us with His Kingdom and His Heart.

  1. Where have I left my post?
  2. Who have I missed that God has called me to lead?
  3. Who is leading me that God never intended to do so?

Now, develop and action plan to implement the necessary changes to put you back in alignment with His Kingdom.
