My Dad Is A King

Via TJC

“This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16

We are currently living in very uncertain times. As Kingdom Men, we are all staring at a crossroads, unsure which direction to go. Do we go down the path that so many have gone down? Do we let our current situation get the best of us? Do we complain and live a life of regret, bitterness, and anger? Or do we choose the narrow, less-traveled path that leads to victory?

Matthew 7:14 says, But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

The journey down that narrow path is going to be a slow and steady process. It won’t always be easy, but it will ultimately lead to the legacy we want to leave behind for others to follow. In order to begin down the path we must first understand that as “Kingdom” men, we are royalty!

This week we will be talking about our identity as Kings… who we are, how we see ourselves, how God sees us, and how we use that identity to chart our course down the path to victory.

The first step in understanding WHO we are, is understanding WHOSE we are.  We are sons of God. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”.

God is our dad!

The moment I think about being able to call the God of the universe, my father, I immediately think of my two sons. When I look at those little guys, I am completely filled with love. There isn’t a single thing on this earth that I wouldn’t do for them. I would jump in front of a bus to protect them, I would drop anything I was doing to console them, offer them advice, or just be there when they needed me. When it comes to keeping them healthy, safe and raising them to be good adults, there’s no mountain too high or river too deep.

As God’s sons, He loves us even more than that. As sons of the King, we have full access to His unconditional love. We’re a part of His family and we carry His name. No matter how big of a jerk we’ve been, we are fully accepted by our Father and the power that gives us is unstoppable. As we head down the narrow path that leads to life, know that our Father, the God of the universe, is leading us, guiding us, and giving us strength.

Daily Battle Plan:

The narrow path is not a sprint. It’s a life-long journey that will sometimes be easy and sometimes feel impossible. Begin the process today of understanding your identity and know that you are a Son of the King and prepare your heart to receive the name that He has given you.
