Communications & Supply Lines

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” 1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV

How do we avoid the mistakes that so many leaders have made before us? We start with the basics. We start with exercising clear communications with God

In the Battle at Fredericksburg, Maj General Burnside chose to disregard a potential breakthrough by General Meade’s Pennsylvania Reserves, out of sight on the southern flank; He did not correctly discern what could have shifted the battle at Fredericksburg. Why? Many reasons could be given, but the most significant was Burnside’s focus on the near fight, ignoring his own battle strategy. Maybe he was feeling pressure to act upon what he could see and not others’ intelligence. Sound familiar? We/I tend to do this a lot in life. We let pressure and circumstances dictate our movement, instead of being established with clear lines of communications with an almighty God who can and does give us what we need to discern a better direction and better choices.

This last Sunday evening, I attended an ordination service for two men from my church. Both testimonies grabbed my attention as they told stories of attempts to avoid a calling. One told of his trying to make a deal with God whether he would say yes to the call. Both testimonies spoke to the communications breakdown between themselves and God; to the point of not wanting to hear from God. They had turned their backs on their communications and supply lines – other men of God to hold them accountable, Bible study, prayer, etc. Eventually, they reopened their communications and supply lines and embraced the call on their lives.

Have you been there? I’ve let lines of communication with God deteriorate and it happens so subtly. Maybe we stopped going to church. I realized that I needed to take a step back. Our communication breaks down with God and people when we push off our quiet time and we suddenly find ourselves too busy to pray; maybe we were never strong in prayer. I know, personally, times in my life when I stopped going to church and stopped caring what God had to say about my life, I had stopped communicating with God through the four major pillars: Bible study, Fellowship with believers, Prayer, and witness (speaking about God with others).

When we cut off the communications and supply lines, confusion and poor decisions follow. Then we wonder why we struggle to communicate clearly in our relationships, and have a difficult time raising children that we want to influence for Christ. Maybe it’s because we have become a carnal man – a saved man yet living like the rest of the world.

God is calling you back to His plans for victory for YOU!

God won’t give you more than HE can handle, (Amen) and your spiritual maturity will influence how well you handle it; how well you reflect God through your decisions and actions.

It’s a falsehood to say God won’t give you more than you can handle, if that was true you wouldn’t need Him. God is going to give you more than you can handle, and the more spiritually prepared you are, being connected to Him, will allow you to complete the mission through HIM.

Daily Battle Order:

Men, reclaim the status of King in your realm. Reopen the communications and supply lines so that you will be able to give those in your realm the right direction, encouragement, and the best possible chance at victory. You were created for victory. Operate from a platform of victory with communications and supplies that are already in place – your Bible, prayer, worship, brothers-in-Christ, etc. Set others up for victory. If you must start over with being bottle-fed spiritually – simply start. This is where the rubber meets the road in transitioning from a Christian man to a Kingdom man.

Register for Fredericksburg Battlefield Training – Kingdom Men, we will be mustering at Fredericksburg Battlefield on June 25-26. Friday-Sunday; for those able to participate Saturday only, you will receive the benefits of the TJC Battlefield training. Let’s “PRE-DECIDE” to train together!

Please note – A portion of every registration is being matched by a donor, so that Joshua Commission can support the “Mighty Oaks Foundation” and “Door of Hope”. Mighty Oaks helps warriors overcome the ravages of veteran suicide. The Door of Hope comes alongside men and women struggling with abortion decisions.

Your participation ripples far beyond the battlefields of 1862.
