Applying The Truth: God’s Word, The One Source of Truth

via TJC

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

This week our focus will be on the truth of God’s Word and the victory that is ours through it. The goal is to know the truth and apply its freedom to our lives for discipleship of ourselves and others.

I graduated from the University of Tennessee. Inscribed on my ring is the University’s motto. Included as a part of the seal of the University of Tennessee are the following words, in Latin: “Veritatem cognoscetis, et veritas vos liberabit.” Translated “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

Sound familiar? This is straight from God’s Word, the One and Only source of truth.

Quite amazing that a State University’s official motto is straight from God’s Word, the book of John, Chapter 8, verse 32, pointing all those who read it to The one source of Truth!

Daily Battle Order:

Kingdom man, there are a lot of voices, publications, sayings, and stories that are floating out there in this world. Many people claim to know the truth, but their basis is not on God’s Word.

Abiding in His Word makes us His disciples, and by continuing to abide in His Word, we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free. This is a promise from our Lord Himself directly to us. Today’s challenge: embrace this truth, get in and stay in His Word daily, and experience the freedom, the victory that is yours in Christ Jesus our Lord!
