And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace among those with whom He is pleased.” Luke 2: 10-14
Christmas Day Prayer:
Father God, thank you for giving us the gift of your son, Jesus, the Christ, Emmanuel, God with us. We needed, we need, and we will continue to need You with us on this earth. This year has been one of great turmoil. Wars and rumors of wars. Nation rising against nation. Kingdom against kingdom. Famines and earthquakes in various places. Many have fallen away from you on the other side of a global pandemic.
We thank you for your gift of grace through Jesus. Grace for forgiveness of our sins and for eternal life through Jesus. Grace given to us so abundantly and free. Grace given “If we confess our sins” (1 John 1:9a). Grace given if we humble ourselves and accept this incredible gift of grace through Jesus for “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9b.
We thank you that you are faithful to us even when we are not faithful to you. We thank you that you welcome us back and that you run to meet us when we do come back to you, welcoming us with open arms. We thank you that you are in control and that your plan is coming together even though to us it seems that this old world is falling apart.
On this Christmas day, December 25th, 2022, we truly thank you for your blessings and we pray for strength to serve you well and for your continued grace and mercy and blessing upon us on this earth until you return. We pray for peace, hope and love on this earth as we celebrate today the birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us!
In Jesus' precious name we ask and pray these things, Amen.
Daily Battle Order:
God’s gifts of grace, forgiveness, cleansing from all unrighteousness, and eternal life are far more valuable than any gift that we may give this Christmas.
If you do not know the Lord, His grace and forgiveness and cleansing from all unrighteousness and eternal life can be yours this very day.
God’s Word, the only source of truth in this world, tells us “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Believe in Him today by accepting Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Read the Gospel (good news) of John. Then celebrate this Christmas Day like no other before!
If you do know the Lord, share this good news with others, just as the angels did when they proclaimed the birth of Jesus. This is the best gift you could ever give someone! A gift that truly does keep on giving, now, and into eternity.
