“But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace,” - Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days.”
Galatians 1:15-18
Dear Paul,
It’s your student Brandon writing to you from the year 2023 and in my men’s ministry we are participating in, ‘a year with men’ study by John Eldridge that follows his book ‘Wild at Heart’. He mentions you in Ch. 6 The Father’s Voice, and the section Initiating a Man about your experience on the road to Damascus. You brilliantly describe in your letter to the Galatians how you were set apart to preach the gospel of God, but it took you 3 years of spending time with our Creator and being initiated into your conversion as Paul.
God has sent me to the southwest region called New Mexico and much of my experience relates to observing others not knowing their true self and name. We are propping ourselves up as a false self and poser in this generation much like the Galatians of your time. The word is becoming soft and twisted and no accountability is given like the one you gave Peter at the dinner table that evening. No one is spending time in the word like they should or spending time with God to identify their wounds and not asking the correct questions.
Please pray for me Paul to continue this race and help me to reach others like you have taught me to do. Hope to see you when I cross the finish line!
Daily Battle Order:
If you feel that we are slipping away from truth and our alignment with our creator as men, then it’s because we are. Spend more than a quiet time with God, and ask Him the tough questions that have wounded you. Let him take you on your Damascus moment so that you can be given the name that God designed you to become!
Excellent!
