“Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.” Rom 8:37. (AMPC)
This week we pivot to seeing what does Victory in Christ look like?
As a Christian man I had been single much longer than I had expected. When single, going into a 3-day weekend, I cried out to God, “Where is my other half?” and started quoting scriptures such as it is not good for man to be alone. Genesis Chapter 24, etc.
God responded, “You have not because you ask not”, which got my sudden and complete attention.
Knowing scripture I asked, “Am I asking with the wrong motivation“ (as per James 4:2b-3: “You do not have, because you do not ask. [Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures.”
God’s response: “It is my will. I put this on your heart at this time.”
Well, that is all I needed to hear. I already had a past history of seeing breakthroughs from successful prayer/fasting, for over a day. My response back, “Then I’m not moving from here until I hear the answer from You. ... No matter how long it takes.” Then I added, “Lord, I am banging away, hard & not stopping” (referring to Matthew 7:7-8 that commands us to Ask, and keep on asking; Seek, and keep on seeking; Knock, and keep on knocking).
After a few minutes the Lord responded, “OK.” “I know your heart, and will answer your prayer.” My human response: Worship and Praise.
That was it. From that moment I was on a new path to overcome a long-standing disappointment. The start of that victory traces back to that specific moment.
Daily Battle Order:
Several spiritual weapons were employed in the above example. The life-changing victory was possible because this author had been both trained and experienced from prior combat.
How have you been trained? Has your training led you to Victory? If unsure about your training, then seek out other men whose training has led them to see Victory in their own lives.
