The Battlefield of Government

“ For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom. To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.” Isaiah 9:6-7

Government and politics are certainly firestarter topics no matter whom you talk with these days. Everyone has an opinion. Sadly, everyone does not have enough fact! The news media is full of conflicting stories depending upon which party you are in league with. 

It’s nothing new; after all, we are a Republic. Remember that term? Probably not as we don’t recite the Pledge of Allegiance any longer, at least, not in public school. A republic is a government ruled by the people through their elected officials. “The last great experiment for promoting human happiness” said George Washington. 

We’ve given up the ground of our government. We no longer uphold it with justice and righteousness. Time to take it back.

Daily Battle Order:

How do I take back the ground  on the battlefield of government? I get involved! Here’s what I’m going to do as a  Kingdom Man. Here’s my action plan; one I’ve put off for too long.

I’m going to find out who the mayor of my city is and go and meet with that person and just find out who they are. Not their agenda, but who they are and what they believe in.

Then I’m going to find out who my representative is and their office hours and make an appointment to see them as well. Whether I voted for them or not they are representing me…I better get to know them. Who are they? What interests them? What about their family? 

I’m going to do the same with my senator and the governor as well. Once I’ve done this I can ardently pray for them and stay in touch with them. Perhaps they need to be reminded that they represent me and we both have pledged our allegiance to the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, One Nation, Under God with Liberty and Justice for all.

I’m going to take back the ground I’ve given up as the zeal of the Lord will be accomplishing this through me.
