The Victorious Man Serves Others

via TJC

13 Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the extent that we have already attained, let’s walk by the same rule. Let’s be of the same mind.

17 Brothers be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example. Philippians 3:13-17

I was talking with a friend of mine the other day and he is older than me and I enjoy talking with him because he speaks in a straightforward manner. He was recounting to me how he helped move his son into a new house last weekend. It was a hot weekend! He told me he and his wife went over and he helped load a 10’ truck, some pickup trucks and another car. Of course, he had to help unload them too. He had mentioned that when some of the neighbors saw them moving in a couple of the men and their wives came over to help and one of the ladies even brought cookies! Of course, my friend who is no stranger to serving not only thanked them but introduced himself, his wife, his son and his family and everyone else who came to help. He even passed out our TJC business cards! He told me he and his wife worked for 10 hours straight!  As I was reviewing our TJC Creed one of the parts reads, “I am a Kingdom Man. If a husband, I love and serve my wife, if a father, a loving father to my children. I will love and lead them as Christ loves the church.”

I thought of my friend and many of his stories of acts of love and serving others all through his life. I thought here is that man Paul is referring to when he said 16 Nevertheless, to the extent that we have already attained, let’s walk by the same rule. Let’s be of the same mind.

17 Brothers be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example.

So there you have it; Kingdom Men lead by example!

Daily Battle Order: Paul said that he “ had not yet attained nevertheless, to the extent which we have attained let’s walk by the same rule. Let’s be of the same mind.” Go out Kingdom Man and walk and serve and love and let others imitate you!
