The Victorious Man Sets Others Free
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” http://esv.to/John8.31-32
My Dad was my hero. WW ll vet, hardest worker I have ever known, Kingdom man. He wasn’t familiar with the term “Kingdom man”, but he filled all the categories: “Warrior, lover, teacher, and king”. He wasn’t perfect, of course, but he knew that God’s love (through the direction of the Holy Spirit) would bring him to victory.
That said, Dad would tell you in a second he was a free man and could do anything he wanted. But it was BECAUSE of Jesus, not in spite of him. He would tell folks, “I can still drink all I want, I’ve just changed fountains” and say it with a big smile. I’m smiling as I write this just knowing he’s having a blast in heaven. He was a victorious man because he was free… and he was free because he loved being obedient to his Lord and Savior.
So… as Kingdom men how do we set others free? “I am called to break down barriers and free others from strongholds.” Sounds rather daunting, no? In reality, it is hard… and worth every ounce of effort. “Breaking down strongholds” entails taking the time, just as Jesus did, to love people enough to hear their words of struggle and victory, pray with and for them, teach them to abide in His word. We are to show others the freedom and victory of a sold out life. “The truth will set you FREE.”
Daily Battle Orders: First and foremost, start your day with an understanding of how much God loves you. Pray. Meditate on his strength. Ask Him to use you to take other men and women into His presence with power and humility, and while there, model the freedom that can only come from adoration and obedience to the one and only Holy God. You can do this! You are a child of the King and thus a Kingdom man!
