Victory For The Individual
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
So there we have it. Paul didn’t lie. NOTHING can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing. Nothing now. Nothing in the future. Behold, the outrageous love of God!
So – forgive yourself and do better. Stop being so hard on yourself. The truth doesn’t have to be dressed up. It can be said plainly: The individual is victorious in Christ Jesus.
Victorious over what?
Check out Romans 8:38-39. The answer is there. We are victorious over ANYTHING that separates us from the love of God. That’s victory. In your life and in my life there’s all those little things….all your issues and all my issues. God sweeps that garbage away. Nothing! Nothing separates you from his love! Not my garbage and not yours. Not the people who dislike you. Not the world systems in which you have to operate. Nothing separates you from the love of God.
It’s right there and the enemy knows it and would do anything for you to not believe it and so reject it and give him jurisdiction over that garbage. But we’re not going to do that. We’re going to sit here in our sin and acknowledge that we aren’t worthy by any stretch of the imagination but nonetheless God loves us like he loved Barrabas. His son conquered death and holds the keys. Nothing separates us from him. So, we win.
I know victory despite all my flaws because I can never be separated from God’s love. As a young man I looked for the objects of my own love instead of God’s. When I realized the love of God, I knew none of my worldly concerns mattered. For the first time I sensed a victory far more lasting and impactful than all I had chased before.
TODAY’S TRAINING: Do you accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Seriously. Do you actually accept that you are loved by God no matter what? Can you say yes you accept that?
